5/1/2009 - MONTGOMERY- State Finance Director Jim Main has named Mike Hudson the Acting State Comptroller. Hudson was appointed to the post formerly held by Bob Childree, who retired yesterday after more than 35 years of state service, 22 of which were spent as State Comptroller.

4/30/2009 - MONTGOMERY- Alabama State Comptroller Robert L. Childree will retire today after 35 years of service to the state. Prior to his appointment as State Comptroller in 1987, Childree worked as a governmental accountant, becoming the highest ranking governmental accountant in the State Merit System.
